Frequently Asked Questions
I live in Texas. Why would I want a Utah permit?
Texas and Utah have a reciprocal agreements, saying each state will honor the other states permit. Utah's permit is honored by 31 states. But be sure to read each state's laws concerning honoring Utah's permit.
For the Texas class, you are required to pass a shooting test and a written test. Why doesn't Utah require similar test?
The right to defend yourself doesn't come from the state. It is a Creator endowed right. The Utah permit is the easiest permit to get, easiest to maintain, and cheapest. The ability to pass a state required test should not effect your right to protect yourself and your family.
After I send in my application, how long will it take to get my permit?
Utah law gives BCI 60 days to issue the permit.
I can't make the Mesquite monthly class. What can I do?
We will travel to you for a class of 3 or more students. At 5 students, the host gets a 50% discount on their class fee. At 10 students, the host class fee is waived. Since there is no shooting, the class can be held anywhere, in a living room, to a church, or even a Denny's.
Do you teach anything other than the Texas and Utah conceal carry permit classes?
Yes. I'm an NRA instructor. I can also teach private lessons, or even a “Level 1” shooting class. Be sure to check our calendar, and use our reservation form to let us know what you are interested in.
